Koh Tao

Well, I actually arrived in time for the infamous Full moon Party on the 7th September, but I decided not to go. The main decision-maker was seeing the photos on this site: http://www.pbase.com/kananga/full_moon_party&page=all (beware not suitable for viewing by the overly sensitive!). V. glad I didn't go.

I went straight to Koh Tao the next day, which is a tiny island, just 21km around, good snorkelling, and great parties! Just pretty small time 'clubnights" in the bars of my hostel and the one next door - must have only been about 50 or 60 people there on each night, but the DJs were really good, and there was a great atmosphere - a good mix of Thais as well as other travellers, and I met some cool people from Finland, England and Thailand, including one guy dressed up as a lovely lady! Stayed in a very nice bungalow - just a wooden hut in the trees, with a bathroom with no roof, so you can look up at the stars as you're doing your business, how quaint. And then a short stroll to the beach...Aaah, but I had to leave, sob, and now I am in Bangkok finally.
